Looking for a new F1 to cheer for
After Logan Sargeant got the boot from Williams during the season, I don't know if I want to be a Williams fan anymore. I was considering staying a fan with them when they signed Carlos Sainz for the next two seasons. Honestly, he should have been with Mercedes and put Kimi Antonelli with Williams. Sainz and Alex Albon deserved to be on the bigger teams (Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull, and McLaren). I get it, Sargeant was not coming next season which I understand. I can't defend it, I don't have much evidence to support that. The only thing I had is the US Grand Prix 2023 and that was aided by Hamilton and Leclerc being DQ'ed. However, could he not have the full season. Who was the last American F1 driver to not be fired during the season? Eddie Cheever? There was an American on the F2 grid in Jak Crawford. Still, he's a junior driver for Aston Martin who have Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll so even if he gets his super license he's going to wait for a while unless Andretti comes to the sport in 2028. Not liking his chances with Aston Martin. Seriously, can't Stroll go to WEC or NASCAR?
Now on who I could cheer for
Stay with Williams: It is an option. I do like the upcoming driver lineup in Sainz and Albon but again after firing Sargeant in the middle of the season, I'm leaning towards no.
Red Bull: That's a NO
Mercedes: Honestly, I wished Sainz or Albon got the seat to replace Hamilton though James Vowles made it difficult for Albon to get out of his contract. Seriously, does Vowles want to the Mercedes job when Toto Wolff retires? Is Kimi Antonelli really all that? They started winning after struggling the last two seasons. Will they return to dominance? Maybe, they still the top teams in F1. I'll say 50-50 though might be less if Antonelli is the driver. Sorry but Antonelli should have gotten the Williams ride.
Ferrari: Where to I start? While I think Max and Red Bull would have won the titles in 2022. I believe those titles were have been closer if Ferrari didn't fuck up, especially the strategy team. I believe Leclerc lost out on at least three races well four but I did like Sainz winning the British Grand Prix and I think Sainz should have won the Canadian GP. So about four races they should have won but didn't. Again, Max and Red Bull would have won. This season is part 2 it seems though Ferrari wasn't as fast as they were 2022. Both drivers have wins. I feel bad for Charles Leclerc. Good Luck Lewis Hamilton. I'll say 50-50
McLaren: Of all the big teams, this might be the one I would cheer for. They have a good lineup however will it implode like Senna-Propst or Alonso-Hamilton. Also, Papya is appearing less and less on the car though that's an F1 thing not just McLaren. Come on guys, add more color to your cars.
VCARB: 50-50 though they are to junior Red Bull team. They have more color on their cars compared to the rest of the grid. I think Yuki should have had a chance on the Red Bull seat. Maybe it depends on the second driver.
Sauber soon to be Audi: The worst team on the grid, I'll pass.
Aston Martin: I would consider them if they had the pace they did last season. I mean the pace Alonso had last season and if they replace Lance Stroll for Jak Crawford. Until then, it's a no.
Haas: That's a no, they should have given Mick another season.
Alpine: Good Luck to Jack Doohan. I know they have celebrity investors like Ryan Reynolds, Michael B Jordan, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce. Unless I get selfies with all the celebrity investors and Gasly and Doohan, it's a no. Also, what happened to the team? They had two podiums last season.
