More Guns doesn't mean more safety in schools

After the Stoneman Douglas commission led by Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri suggested that school should armed teachers it's been a divisive topic. Heck, I lost a friend because I said he didn't care for his kids and he said among other things I crossed a line. I did I admit especially 1. I don't have kids myself and 2. How would I like it if someone said the same thing to me on me not wanting to arm teachers with guns? I would be pissed too. I know I have said a number of times of Facebook and here that Republicans don't give a shit about their kids. I think when it came to the election in 2016 (and to some extent 2018) a number of people wanted for most themselves like "sorry about your schools and the environment we're about to leave you with but daddy needs a job" or "Mommy needs a job". I know low of me to say especially since I probably still have Conservatives who have kids and aren't pissed at me yet. However, if you really think your kids are going to be safe with armed teachers then I questioned your parenting (I know again I have no kids but I do care). Ok, most people do care about their kids unlikely the Trump/Kushner family. More guns are not the answer to stop mass shootings, after the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting, President Trump said that churches need to be armed. No, they don't, I go to a church and I really wouldn't feel comfortable to my church (which will not be named just in case someone comes after me) to see armed security guards to mass. I don't go to People's Temple (too soon?). Plus how about denounced white supremacists? That might help Trump at least prove that you care about your grandkids. Most religious leaders won't do this or at least I hope they don't. Most teachers in the state of Florida are against being armed and the State Republicans are ignoring them. Sad part Republicans still outnumbered Dems because the pass the bill and now they need Governor Ron Desantis to sign and just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week. Of course, maybe Desantis should put more money to the public school system, that would help. I believe arming teachers is a big liability issue. Are the teachers going to have it with them or at their desk? Plus what happens if a teacher accidentally shoots someone? or Purposely? or if a student overpowers a teacher with a gun, grabs the gun and shoots and kills people? or if a student breaks into a desk with the gun and shoots and kills people with the gun? Is the teacher liable? School? School Board? State? There are just too many questions and concerns plus lawsuits. There was an incident with a School Resource Officer in Weightman Middle School in Wesley Chapel and he was trained (or was a she?). The teacher will get training but nowhere near a law enforcement officer gets trained in firearms. So means accidentally fires in school are going to increase. Hey I know we all want kids safe from school shootings and prevent the next Stoneman Douglas and Law Enforcement Agencies can't put more officers in offices but this isn't the answer. How about putting more money into Public Schools to paid teachers good wages, maintenance, school supplies, and more importantly security maybe spring a security guard or two (arm or unarmed). I think if the bill is signed I think Desantis, Gualtieri, and Republican Legislatures should send their kids to public schools if they are so comfortable with arming teachers. However, I don't think I can do that with their kids. Just because their parents are assholes doesn't mean they should pay the price. Hey, if you want to take the chance with your kid or kids I can't stop you but don't let your kids pay the price. Please Reconsider Governor and Republican Legislatures.
