Question on who's the greatest baseball player? In Any Sport really

With the death of Willie Mays (may he Rest in Peace) at the age of 93 who people said was one of the greatest Major League Baseball players of all time. I think Mike Wilbon from Pardon the Interruption said that Mays didn't have the greatest arms, fastest player, best power hitter, etc. but that Mays was in the top five fastest players, power hitters, strongest arm, etc. Mays and Mickey Mantle had to been the first players to be considered five-tool players. Also, along with Duke Snyder of the Brooklyn Dodgers, they were the best center fielders in baseball and all in New York, remember this was before the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles and the Giants moved to San Francisco in the 1957-58 offseason. Also, another Giants legend Orlando Cepeda died ten days after Mays did at the age of 86. It should be noted that Willie Mays missed most of two seasons after his rookie year due to military service. He could have gotten 700 Home Runs, 2,000 RBIs, and about 3,500 hits give or take. I'm guessing here, just like wondering what Ted Williams' numbers would be if he didn't miss nearly five years in baseball due to military service serving both in World War II and the Korean War. I started to wonder who people considered who the greatest player of all-time in Baseball. Personally, I think it's Babe Ruth and that's it. Yes, people can make a case for Mays and Mantle and maybe a few others. Also, throw in Henry Aaron as well the home run champ and yes, I believe Aaron is the Home Run champ even though Barry Bonds has more home runs and make a case for Ted Williams. Also, I can make a case that Babe Ruth played over 100 games from 1915-1918, his numbers would have been bigger like him having 3,000 hits. Would he be ahead of Aaron? Probably not though again, I don't know for sure. Baseball wasn't for home runs at the time Ruth started. He was a .342 hitter. Mays ended at .301 and Mantle was just shy of being a career .300 hitter. It's still tough to figure whose the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) is with different eras and you can say the same thing in other sports like Football who count Jim Brown, Lawrence Taylor, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Jerry Rice among others. Basketball with Michael Jordan and Lebron James though people would consider Kobe Bryant, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, among others. Hockey has their own debate with Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky. More than likely, those debates will last as long as there's sports still being play and maybe the list might longer. I guess it's fun to debate and I rather debate who the greatest ballplayer than some of topics out there.
