Is there such thing as too many NCIS shows?
We're about to find out soon as we might have five NCIS shows at the same time with NCIS, NCIS: Hawaii, NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Origins where we saw a young Gibbs in the 1990s and yes Mark Harmon will be involved in the show with him being the narrator, and whatever the Tony-Ziva spinoff is going to be called. They couldn't get Mark Harmon to appear in the David McCallum/Dr. Mallard tribute episode? Michael Weatherly did. Not to mention we will see the 1,000 episodes of an NCIS show in April. Only the Law and Order franchise can say that as well and think their the only ones that can say that until April. However, will it be too much? Granted, we don't know which shows will be renewed yet though I did do believe NCIS and NCIS Hawaii will be renewed, again this is only my guess. I don't know what the CBS execs will do. Sydney I'm not sure though it was one of the few scripted shows to air before the rest of the shows return. It was only to be available on Paramount+ then the writers/actors strikes happened and CBS needed to role airtime so NCIS Sydney aired on CBS. If it get another season and if they do, will they return to CBS/Paramount+ or just Paramount+ only? Origins sounds like will be on CBS and the Tony-Ziva spin-off would be in Paramount+ only though who knows. I question this because I feel like CBS ended New Orleans to make room for Hawaii and ended Los Angeles to make room for Sydney and now it looks it's going to be 4 or 5 NCIS on at the same time depending on what happens with the current three NCIS shows. Honestly, I wished New Orleans got another season, LA I was OK with the ending plus with LL Cool J in Hawaii, I have a feeling we will see some of the LA cast appear in Hawaii. Plus will there be enough spots all NCIS shows. The Chicago Franchise did four shows at the same time with Chicago Justice ending after season one and I think Law and Order tried to do four shows at the same time as well and I don't think that lasted long. The NCIS franchise hasn't had more than three at the same until probably the next TV season or when we know coming, staying, or leaving. Well, Origins and the Tony-Ziva spinoff got the greenlight so they're coming. Now we waiting to see which ones stay. Honestly, I think it is too much however, I'm sure I'm going to check out Origins and Tony-Ziva spinoff.
