Why does Tori Vega get so much hate?
After rediscovering Victorious, I might have discovered that the main character Tori Vega was not a popular character on the show by looking at YouTube clips/vids and Google. It's not uncommon for people to hate the main character of a show like Andy Bernard from The Office, Eric Forman from that 70's show not to be confused with Eric Foreman from House (whose not those hated list), Ross from Friends, Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother, and someone similar to Tori, Rachel Berry from Glee. It should be noted Tori Vega isn't on that list, at least the ones I looked at. Of course, there are also YouTube videos or Google defending Tori. Honestly, I like Tori Vega and don't see why she's hated so damn much. Yes, she has done stuff I can't defend like kissing Beck in front of his girlfriend in class in The Pilot. Granted yes, Jade did pour ice coffee on Tori but Tori already got her back in that Alphabet Improv where they were tit for tat until F where Jade lost. Yet Tori felt the need to ask Beck also in the same Improv group to kiss her though Beck could have said "Let's Not" for the scene however he said "Let's do it" and kissed her. That's on Beck as much as it was on Tori. In fairness, Jade did get back at Tori a few episodes in "Stage Fighting" later where she accuses Tori of hitting her during their stage fighting skit. Tori ended up with two weeks of detention and had to clean up a food fight scene though couldn't been determined it was an accident and Tori still got two weeks of detention and had to do clean up? Really? Plus isn't makeup a part of the curriculum especially in "Tori the Zombie"? Sad that no one gave her the benefit of the doubt until after Jade took a cup of water in the face. Not to mention, Jade confessed to Tori and the Security Guard or School Resource Officer. Why didn't the Guard report Jade? Going back on the topic. Tori also kissed Cat's boyfriend. It's one thing to kiss the boyfriend/girlfriend of someone you don't like though it's still not nice, it's way messed up to do it to a friend's significant other which Cat was/is. Tori did apologized and Cat punched her in the face after Tori said "I swear Cat, if I were you I would punch me in the face,". Yes, can be selfish at times though they all could, Slap Fight anyone? Also in Three Girls and a Moose where the ladies try to attract the attention of Beck's friend Moose from Canada while neglecting to help the guys in a fundraiser though her and Cat did perform in the fundraiser. Also, looking at her date's phone, not smart. Though she did apologize and he gave her another chance though he turned out to be a dirtbag, the guy in question liked to use girls for good grades and ghost them after the assignment was over. Don't worry, he got his and boy did he. Stealing Andre's song though they did finish the song together. Some of why people hate Tori I question like the Prom or Prome as they called it. That was on Sikowitz to put Tori's Prome over Jade's play. Surprised that Jade didn't have more consideration because she was there in the school longer. Saying that, Jade should not have tried to sabotage the Prom or Prome. If it was the other way around, I'm sure Jade would like Tori not to sabotage her play. It's sad people take Jade's side there. It creates the wrong message if you don't get what you want sabotage the event that took place of your event. Also, in all honestly, neither event should have happened, at least not outdoors since it rained during Prome. Seriously, no one checked what the weather was going to be? Also, she got hated for standing on furniture, Really? That's what I call nitpicking. The big one why people hated was she got most of the songs. OK though that's more on the writers/producers of the show especially Dan Schnider not on the character or even the actress Victoria Justice. One hand, I get it the show was called VicTORIous not CATrific or CATtastic though CATtastic would be a good title for a Cat Valentine show however maybe the writers could spread the spotlight to others more often. That was a ridiculously talented cast. I think the person who had to second most solos was Matt Bennett as Robbie. Leon Thomas as Andre had his songs though weren't they with Victoria mostly? It should be noted that Ariana Grande aka Cat got a record deal not because of Victorious but by posting videos online of her singing. Again, I blame that on the writers and Dan Schneider for giving Tori most of the songs. I do think Victoria Justice is a talented singer but compared to Liz Gillies (Jade) and Ariana, she was the third-best singer of the show maybe fourth if you want to put Leon ahead of Victoria. However, that's not a bad thing. Heck, I believe all three ladies should have hit albums but Liz Gillies hasn't try to release an album yet and Victoria did try but her song flopped and her record label dropped her shortly after though she is attempting another attempt in music. Yes, Tori Vega wasn't perfect and she made mistakes but does she deserve to be hated. I don't think so. Plus I can make a case why Jade should be hated. In the first three episodes, she did two things that should have gotten her suspended if not straight-up expelled (Pouring Ice Coffee on Tori and lying about Tori hitting her) and Robbie probably would have been Metoo out of Hollywood Arts in current times and he can't use Rex was an excuse. Plus the whole trying to kill Trina by cutting her harass would have gotten her expelled for sure and him stalking Tori and possibly Cat and Trina. Man, the things that were allowed on the show like making fun for Mental Illness or should I say Mental Health. Could we stop hating on Tori Vega or at least hating on Victoria Justice for playing Tori Vega? She was playing a character.
