I'm going to say it: Tori and Andre should have dated on Victorious
After rediscovering Victorious on Paramount+, I thought why didn't Tori and Andre date. I believe they would have made a cute couple. OK maybe Cat and Robbie would have been the cutest couple of the three. I am counting Beck and Jade who were actually a couple. Cat and Robbie are another couple that should have happened but didn't. Rumor had it that both Tori and Andre would have been a couple if the show had a fifth season and Ariana Grande (Cat) did confirm on Twitter/X that Robbie and Cat would have been a couple in a future episode but again Victorious ended at least for Tori and Andre to be a couple. However, Cat and Robbie could have happened with Sam and Cat which was a spinoff of both Icarly and Victorious with Sam Puckett from Icarly and Cat teaming up to run their own babysitting service. They couldn't have Matt Bennett who played Robbie to at least have a recurring role and have Cat and Robbie date. He did have a guest-starring role on the show but it wasn't good enough for the Cabbie fans. Why did Victorious end? I think the main reason maybe was the show reached the episode limit. Unsure if Nickelodeon had one like Disney's 65 episodes but most of the Dan Schneider shows usually ended in the 60-65 episode mark except for Icarly and that's not counting the reboot which lasted three seasons and Henry Danger. Outside of Schneider's shows was Secret World of Alex Mack lasted 78 episodes. I'm not counting All That because it was Nick's version of SNL. Victorious was at 57 and three of those were two-parts so some could count it as 60. Shouldn't Dan Schneider know about the episode limit since he was doing shows for Nickelodeon for nearly 20 years at the time and maybe prepared to write a series finale for the show? Anyway, why do I think they should have dated? It starts in the Pilot episode where it seems like it was love at first sight when Andre first saw Tori. OK maybe love is a little too strong but it seems like he drew a liking to Tori at first sight and maybe her as well when she sat next to Andre at the piano at her house. She helped Andre and her sister Trina rehearse for the big showcase at Hollywood Arts High School however Trina had her tongue swell so couldn't sing. In the case of the show must go on, Andre "volunteered" Tori to perform even though she never performed before we think. After some "convincing" aka her being dragged to perform, she gave a stunning performance and after that performance, Andre leaped from his keyboard to hugged Tori. That performance was so good, that the principal of Hollywood Arts offered her a spot in the school right there on the spot. She wasn't sure about accepting until Andre opened to curtain when everyone was still on the stage, Andre asked the audience if she should go to the school and they immediately cheered. After Jade decided to be a bitch by pouring iced coffee on Tori and Tori leaving the class and considering leaving Hollywood Arts, Andre was the first one to chase after her, took her phone when she was going to call her mom to go back to her previous high school, and convince her to stay at the school along with Trina later on. They would be great friends with some moments where they pissed each other off but ultimately forgave each other. I believe they were each other biggest fans. Why they weren't boyfriend and girlfriend? I hate to throw R-word around but it seemed doubtful Nickelodeon would have wanted a half-white, half-Hispanic female to date a black guy. Some people don't like that though on the N or Noggin or TeenNick, whatever it was called aired a Canadian show called Degrassi: The Next Generation which had Drake (yes that Drake) dated a white female maybe even more than one. I wonder if that was because Drake was bi-racial? It's not like it wasn't done before with classic shows The Jeffersons (the first show to feature by bi-racial couple) and Soap. I know Schneider was called the Norman Lear of Nickelodeon which is an insult to the late great Lear. Lear would have taken those risks. Also, Lear wasn't accused of being a creep like Schneider. I know it's Nickelodeon but I'm only asking for an interracial couple. RIP Norman Lear. Also, there's the argument of "Hey why can't they just be good friends? Why ruin that by having them date?" I could also support that. I will admit it's conflicting, should they be just friends? Should they date? I can make a case for either. It would have been nice to see and who knows maybe we might get a reboot. You never know.
