2023 and 2024

Hey I wanted to say some words about 2023 and 2024 and also take a break from writing about Victorious. There will be at least two more posts about Victorious in the future. Anyway, I wanted to talk about a few things like the Playoff Committee picking Alabama over Florida State and the new United Football League which was the United League of the merger of the XFL and the USFL and yes there was a previous UFL from 2009-2012 I believe. How many failed football leagues united?

First the College Football Playoff Committee. Honestly, I do believe it should have been Florida State over Bama. Sorry, but I do still think that even after what happened in the Orange Bowl where the Noles got their asses handed by the Georgia Bulldogs 63-3. Yes, I do cheer for an FSU rival however I also cheer for a Bama rival so well. Florida Gators don't like either school. Yes, my stance on FSU probably has softened because my sister went and graduated as an underclassman there though went did go to Florida for law school. Plus, do we really need to see Bama in another College Football Playoff? Yes, it hurt with FSU losing their starting Quarterback but should it be a reason why FSU who finished 13-0 and won the ACC which is a Power 5 Conference wasn't picked in the CFP? As for the Orange Bowl debacle, I don't want to hear any excuses from FSU fans. Sorry but I don't, you guys lost badly. As for the players who opted out of the Orange Bowl for FSU, I'm mixed. One hand, I understand. You don't want to risk injury affecting your NFL futures, however, wouldn't have been nice to play with your buddies one last time and stick it to the Committee not putting you guys in and go undefeated? All I can say about that is, I hope they're OK with the decision they made. In fairness, Georgia was also motivated as well if not more because they had to be pissed losing to Bama in the SEC Championship Game and had players who actually wanted to play in the Orange Bowl. Also, FSU wants to leave the ACC. Honestly, it's an overreaction, especially since there will be a 12-team playoff next year and no Pac-12 we think. I still think it should have been eight not 12. In fairness, Noles fans, you did see Bama lose to Michigan in the Rose Bowl so there's that.

For the new UFL, where do I start other than both the XFL and the USFL screwed over Tampa teams? Especially the USFL turning the Bandits into the Memphis Showboats who happens to be one of four teams from the USFL that survived the merger. I do agree with the merger. I don't think the leagues would compared against each other for much longer. However, I wished it should have been 12 teams and I believe teams like the New Jersey Generals and the Philadelphia Stars should have survived the merger but didn't but that's the Rock's call, not mine or whatever decision was which team should be in the Mergered league. Also the United Football League really? Did they know there was a UFL about a decade ago? They could have come up with another name? Again not my decision.
