Should Tim Kono asked for Mabel's help?

After rewatching the first two seasons of Only Murders In The Building, well all but one episode. One of the things I missed the first time I watched the show was Tim Kono trying to track down this black market jewelry dealer named "Angel" which he had been tracking for years. It turned out that Angel was Teddy Dimas who lived in the apartment with his son and owned a deli business. However, Teddy decided to add another stream of income which was illegal. Teddy along with his deaf son Theo was graverobbing. Why was Tim investigating the Dimas'? About a decade earlier, Tim witnessed Theo push his friend Zoe off the building. Accidental but still involuntary manslaughter. Theo later confesses to his Dad and instead of having him taken to the station and convincing the district attorney to go easy on Theo, Teddy threatened Tim possibly death along with Mabel if he pointed the cops to Theo. Ultimately, Oscar aka Tie-Dye Guy who was dating Zoe at the time was the prime suspect and ended up serving ten years for a crime he didn't commit. Mabel tried to get Tim to confess what he was but he didn't. Mabel confronted him again after about ten years later when Oscar was getting out of prison and he told her "Pretend we don't know each other because we don't" to which she agreed. Seems to be a dick thing to say especially to a childhood friend and after he hung another friend out to dry. Not to mention he was investigating the Dimas himself. I think if he was able to bust them for the graverobbing business, he would have confessed to being threatened by Teddy and that Theo not Oscar committed the murder of Zoe. The question I have is why didn't Tim reach out to Mabel for help. He knew she like to solve like this and she was big into the Hardy Boys? Plus probably could have used the extra hand. They could have been worked on the down low. Probably could have been an added twist with Charlie and Oliver finding out Mabel worked with Tim to get the Dimas'. The only guess I have with Tim wanting to go it alone instead of asking Mabel for help was because he thought it was his fight and his fight alone especially if they threatened him. He wanted to Dimas' to pay for want they did to Zoe, Oscar, and himself. Even though it was his decision to keep quiet instead of going to the cops or even his parents who were loaded as well. It is a fancy place to live in. Yes, even though he did keep quiet. Tim didn't forget. He had Theo as his passcode on his phone and he confessed in a video of what he did and apologized to Oscar via the video. At least he did start what Mabel along with Charles and Oliver would finish in bringing the Dimas' to justice. So at least there was that and hopefully, Oscar got a nice settlement from the city/state of New York and the Dimas'.
