Is Sargeant getting another season?

I was happy to see an American be on the F1 Grid in 2023. Heck, I became a Williams fan because of Logan Sargeant even though Williams wasn't a good team. They were back in the day but the sport cost more money and they fell to the bottom. Frank Williams and his daughter Clarie Williams had to sell the team to Dorilton Capital, an American corporation. In fairness, expectations should not have been too too high on Logan Sargeant because he was driving for Williams who was the worst team not only in 2022 and four of the last five seasons since 2018. I thought if anyone would help Williams improve, it would be Logan especially since in 2021 in Formula 3, he drove for Charouz who was the worst the previous season. He finished 7th in the driver's championship and Charouz went 5th in the Team Championship in 2021 so you would think he could work the same magic with Williams as he did with Charouz. Then again, F3 isn't F1. Plus there's Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes. He had a good debut in the Bahrain Grand Prix where he nearly made it Q2 having the same time as Lando Norris for 15th position. Lando was the one who made it to Q2 for setting the time first. Logan finished 12th which was not a bad debut and he was the best rookie in the race with Nyck De Vries finishing 14th and Oscar Piastri having a DQ. Unsure if his results would have been better if he made to Q2 but a solid. It's still his second-best position. He went 11th in the Great Britain Grand Prix in one of the few times I wanted to see Ferrari fuck up or break down but they didn't. I wanted to see Logan finish in the points DAMNIT. Those were the only times he finished above 13th place in his races. He finished last twice including in his home track in Miami (he's from Fort Lauderdale). I thought he would have done better since he was the hometown kid though at least he finished in Miami. He didn't finish in six of his races, four of them where he was officially retired. I wished he didn't crash into De Vries in Australia, that could have been 12th at least maybe 11th or even a points finish. OK probably 12th because the decision on the race order was difficult for the FIA after that fiasco. Now there's talk that Logan could be replaced. It's not helping that Pisatri is currently 9th in the Drivers Championship after a slow start and has two podiums and Liam Lawson in his third start finished 9th in arguably in a worse car in Alphatauri and Alex Albon, his teammates has 21 points which single-handedly as Williams 7th in the team standings. Also, not helping Logan is the fact that the guy who gave him the seat then-Team Principal Jost Capito was replaced by James Vowles. So Vowles doesn't have the loyalty to Logan that Capito. Right now, Logan is the only driver not locked in for 2024 not counting De Vries who already got the heave ho midway through the season for Daniel Riccardo and later Liam Lawson who replaced Danny Ric after Danny Ric broke a bone in his wrist in a practice. The thing is who would replace Logan if Williams decision to go with another driver for 2024? There's Felipe Drugovich the 2022 F2 Champion whose a reverse driver for Aston Martin and Frederik Vesti who is in the Mercedes Junior Program and second in the F2 Drivers Championship. However, I don't see them replacing a rookie with another rookie. I just see it as highly unlikely. I see Mick Schumacher or De Vries being looked at. Both had Mercedes connections like Vowles did. Unsure if those two would be considered because both were in F1 and got the boot for their teams, especially Mick. If they have a problem with Logan getting into crashes, unsure if replacing him with a guy who got the boot for getting into crashes is a good option. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Mick back in the F1 Grid but I'm unsure if it would happen especially with the young talent coming. I think he should have gotten another season with Haas but it wasn't my call and Nico Hulkenberg has done a decent job with Haas. It probably depends on how much Toto Wolff dangles the Mercedes carrot to Volwes. I think Volwes wants the Mercedes team principal job when Toto retires and I'm sure Toto knows this and I'm sure he'll persuade James to replace Logan with Mick to courier favor with the Mercedes job. Mick would be the only driver I would be fine with staying as a Williams fan. We won't know until the end of the season. Unsure if that's a good or bad thing. He does have five races left including two more in America. Let's see how he does. Unsure if him being a rookie is an excuse for him to get one more year or if Dorilton Capital decides to step in. I hope he keeps his seat at least for another season. Since 1990, there have only been four American drivers and the previous three didn't make it to a full second season. Scott Speed got the boot halfway through his second season in F1. It sucks that one seat is available so far and there's a chance it might not be available in the F1 Grid. F1 really needs to add more teams to get more opportunities for drivers like say Andretti.
