Bye Bye Pac-12
I think it's all but over for the Pacific 12 with four teams still remaining for now though California and Stanford are having talks with the ACC of all places. Ok more like it's close to be over for the Pac-12 unless something happens at the last minute. Really an East Coast Conference in talks with two West Coast teams? What next? Washington State and Oregon State in talks with the SEC? As an SEC fan, no they shouldn't join the SEC. They should join the Big Ten with Oregon and Washington. Don't worry WSU and OSU, USF fans can relate. It started last year when two of the Pac-12 biggest school USC and UCLA joined the Big Ten. Then this summer Colorado rejoined the Big 12 after a dozen years in the Pac-12 followed by Washington and Oregon joining the Big Ten. The Pac-12 in hopes to keep everyone else got a deal with Apple TV. That didn't work as Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah left for the Big 12. Seriously those conferences really need to change their names because the Big Ten alone is going to have 20 teams give or take. Then the Big 12 will be 16. As of now, only four teams remain in the Pac-12 now the Pac-Four. Like I said, as of now with Cal and Stanford talking with the ACC. Why is this happening? Money and TV as well. However, why are teams going to the Big 12, their the only major conference that doesn't have a TV network? Pac-12 did and probably still as of now still does though does anyone get that network? My dad lives in Arizona and he doesn't get the Pac-12 Network, he gets the SEC Network. I would think the Big 12 would work out a deal with either ESPN or Fox Sports for their own network like the SEC, ACC, and the Big Ten has. ESPN owns both the ACC and the SEC Networks and Fox Sports owns in Big Ten Network. Has a Big Conference went away for good? Yes. The Southwestern Conference was considered a Big Conference back in the day having eight Texas schools and Arkansas however that ended when SMU football team got the death penalty after paying student-athletes in 1987 but soldiered on until 1996 when it dissolved. Then there was the original Big East which was the sixth major conference after they split into the AAC and a reformed Big East as a non-football conference in 2013. For whatever reason, the AAC wasn't reconsidered as a major conference despite having most of the original Big East Schools. Looks like the Pac-12 might go the way of the SWC. I wonder where Washington State and Oregon State will go.
