Bye Bye NCIS Los Angeles
Here we go again, another NCIS is going bye-bye. No, it's not the original NCIS that got renewed for its 21st season. It's going to get a second full season without Mark Harmon which is a surprise and we don't know if Harmon will come back. The same goes for Michael Weatherly and he is available with the show "Bull" Got the Boot last year. NCIS Hawaii got a third season, so that means Los Angeles is ending after 14 seasons. Honestly, I'm more OK with this than New Orleans getting canceled. I believe even to this day that NCIS New Orleans should have gotten an 8th and final season. I believe the storylines were there for New Orleans with Pride dealing with married life, raising a long lost son and being a step-dad to two more boys, the city advisory board, the cases, his daughter's marriage, a fitting end to corrupt cops storyline, OK I think you get it. Nothing against Los Angeles, I do like the show and I probably would have liked to see them do another season or two but I think CBS ended the show because NCIS is having another spin-off called NCIS Sydney. Why not NCIS Tokyo or NCIS Europe? Isn't there more of a US Naval presence in those places than in Sydney? Nothing against Sydney but I think the new spin-off should have been in other places. In fairness, I'll more than likely watch it. However, did CBS really need to cancel a NCIS series especially since Sydney is going to be on Paramount+ not CBS itself. Granted yes, it might have an episode or two on CBS or Paramount network since Tulsa King had a few episodes on after Yellowstone. I would like to see a crossover of Yellowstone and Tulsa King, can you imagine Costner and Stallone sharing the scene? Can you make that happen Paramount? I'm guessing CBS/Paramount didn't want to copy the Chicago shows on NBC which had four Chicago shows at a time with Chicago Justice getting the boot. Probably was one too many shows from the same franchise. At least, the show gave a spotlight on Monica Barbaro who later become Phoenix on Top Gun Maverick. Again, if with Sydney it still would have been three NCIS series on CBS and one on Paramount+ however I'm not an executive of Paramount though sometimes I feel like I can do a better job running a network though my biased would show. Plus having two shows one night and two shows on another night. Honestly, if I had to rank the NCIS series, I put the original first, New Orleans second, Los Angeles third, and Hawaii Fourth. Despite my rankings, I will admit I do like the partnership of Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) and they went where the original didn't in another partnership in Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) who were LA's version of Dinozzo and Kate/Ziva got married and adopted a daughter. Yes, Dinozzo and Ziva are together and have a kid but it wasn't official until both characters left the show. I hope both Ziva and Dinozzo return the Original Show. Also, LA has had the more constant cast so far depending how long Hawaii and Sydney are and how constant their cast is. Only the original from seasons 3-10 can rival that. They did add Miguel Ferrer and he was there until he got sick and later died from throat cancer and he was a cousin to George Clooney. Then in season 12 Nellie and Eric left the show. I also like they handled the special operations cases, something different than the other NCIS shows. Yes, I know the show has a month left. Doesn't necessarily mean it's too soon to say I'll miss it. Will we see the actors return to play their LA characters on other NCIS shows? Too soon to tell though none of the New Orleans cast has portrayed their characters on the other NCIS shows. That might be telling. Could the LA actors do other stuff I'm sure could they would. Thank You for 14 seasons NCIS LA and hope to see you again on other NCIS show.
