Sequels that won't happen: Bull Durham 2
Probably won't happen since Kevin Costner is busy with Yellowstone and would Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon do another movie together after being separated? Since I've be doing fan-fiction sequels, I wanted to do one on Bull Durham especially since the Durham Bulls are the Rays Triple-A team. During the movie, they were the Braves' single A team. Anyway, I have Crash Davis (Costner) who manages the Bulls after managing in the big leagues. He and Annie (Sarandon) were married and are now divorced. They have two kids including a son who played in the Big Leagues but decided to retire and join his dad's coaching staff. The Rays promote this pitcher who reminds Crash of his old teammate Nuke Laloosh (Robbins). A great talent with control issues and not up there in the intelligence department. So he decides to make two decisions. The first one is to convince his son who played catcher as well as first base, outfield, and DH to come out of retirement to catch for the pitcher. At first, his son says no because happy with retirement and what's to go into coaching. His dad says "I don't what snot-nose catcher, I want an experienced catcher to help grow," The son reluctantly agrees especially since his dad says it's only for one more season. The second is to get Laloosh to come back to Durham to be his pitching coach. After Laloosh left Durham, he became one of the greatest pitchers for a time winning two Cy Youngs. However, after 1996 he struggle around until he retired after winning his 200th game. He ended up being a private pitching coach where he helped a number of pitchers make it to the big leagues and making good money being a private coach. Davis goes to California to Laloosh's building. They catch up and talk about the old days then Crash ask Nuke to join him. At first, he refused because he likes his life in California and doesn't want to leave it even for a season. Crash ends up making a big sales pitch and ultimately, Nuke joins the team as the pitching coach. Also, Nuke and Crash's son were teammates in the big at one point. The season starts horribly for the Bulls as the team struggles with the pitcher not listening to anyone. To compound the situation the pitcher and Crash's son have a crash on a baseball groupie. Ultimately, Nuke has a discussion with the pitcher saying you're not the shit you think you are and if you want to make it to the bigs, listen to me, Crash, and Crash's son. The pitcher replies calling him a washup. Nuke responds, "At least I went to the bigs, won Cy Youngs, and a World Series ring, you haven't done shit," It leads to the Bulls winning games with the pitcher and Crash's son leading the way. They win the division, however, the Rays fired their manager and decide to promote Crash to lead the team and in return, Crash promotes his son and the pitcher to join him in Tampa (OK St. Pete) and named Nuke as interim manager. Nuke confronted Crash saying he doesn't want to be the manager even only for a few weeks. They get into a bar fight, broken up by the team. Also, the groupie ended up deciding to be with the pitcher, which upset Crash Jr. but deciding to get over it especially for the team. The morning after the fight, Crash and Nuke talk it out as Crash leave for Tampa. The season ends with Nuke deciding if he should be the manager for another season, talking it out with Crash who becomes the manager of the Rays and his son signed a one-year contract with the team. They talked it as the movie ends with them going to a bar. If you're wondering I don't know what having Annie in the movie. Probably would be smart especially to see her son play plus to see Crash, Nuke, and Annie together again.
