When is enough is enough?
I admit I should have written this post sooner than my shows that should get a second chance, I'm sorry. Part of the reason is I got tired of writing about politics. It got old after a while. After Buffalo and Uvalde mass shootings that cost the lives 31 people including 19 young kids, when is enough going to be enough? I'm not against thought and prayers being a Christian, we can all use them. If you want to be against that, that's fine. Freedom of Religion right? However, those Thoughts and Prayers need to be companied by action. We need to ban assault rifles. I believe the only civilians that need them are Law Enforcement Officers and that's it. I'm for grandfathering people who currently have them as long they have a good clean record. The Government won't take away your guns, we don't need another civil war. We need red flags laws and expanded background checks. It's unbelievable that those in the GOP, the so-called "Christian Party" are against gun laws. Guessing they're only pro-life if they're against Abortion (another subject I probably could talk about in the future), not to mention that over a million Americans died from COVID. I believe it would have been less if Conservatives were pro-mask and pro-vaccines, probably still would have lost a lot of people from COVID but at least we could have said we were trying the numbers down. Would banning assault rifles, red flag laws, and extended background checks end gun violence in this country? More than likely not but it would decrease it (I'm hoping) and possibly decrease mass shootings though the Santa Fe high school shooter killed 10 people using a revolver and a shotgun four months after Stoneman Douglas. I say we need to try the assault rifle ban, red flag laws, and extended background for 5-10 years and then decided if they work instead of doing nothing about mass shootings. We own it to our future.
