Hanging in There and Tiger King
That's what we have to do one way or another until the Coronavirus passes over (whenever that would be). Either April will be better or just as bad as March (or worse). I'll admit, I had plans for March (two XFL games, NBA game in Orlando, River O'Green, and Girl Scout Cookie and Beer Tasting {yes this a thing}). Those events were canceled. More than likely, I'm not going to Easter Mass and yes I know Desantis allow religious gatherings but that's not the risk I'm taking a risk for myself and others and others should put themselves in that risk for them, their family, and others as well. Churches did simulcast their service online and/or social media, do that instead. I've been either lockdown at home or working (I work at a big box retail store which is essential and after work, I've been under a scrub down policy I'll just say). I'm hoping things return to normal (whatever that would be) by June. One of the things I've watched was Tiger King on Netflix. Actually, I'm close to seeing the series twice. It's a wild ride. These people are crazy including Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue which is in Tampa. The main character of the Documentary is Joe Exotic from Oklahoma. He's a gay redneck cowboy who owned the largest private zoo in America (according to him) and ran for President and Governor of Oklahoma. If you saw the episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver where he featured when Oliver talked about third party candidates which Joe Exotic was. The highlights including playing some clips from Joe's campaign video that Joe said that he wasn't going to cut his hair (a mullet, yes a mullet), wasn't going to wear a suit, that he's gay, and that he was broke as shit and had a judgment against him by some bitch in Florida (Baskins). He and Baskin sued each other. Then Oliver added the Joe was the candidate you would want to have a beer with, then another beer, then a few beers until your drunk enough to try meth for the first time (and Oliver wasn't far off with that comment, watch Tiger King to find out). Oliver talked about Joe a few more times after that like mentioning how it would take 3500 dollars for the biggest Tiger themed orgy the nation has ever seen and that he was the perfect candidate saying "He's broke as shit and he wouldn't wear a suit". Sounds like a campaign slogan also Make America Exotic Again is another good one. Also, Broke as Shit would also work. However, Joe Exotic running for Office and suing the Baskins cost him a lot of money (hundreds of thousands of dollars). The money he could have use to upkeep his zoo and/or given money to his employees. Plus a good protion of the money he used probably belonged to Jeff Lowe. I only spent 45 dollars on my congressional campaign however I didn't qualify and Joe Exotic made it to the ballot. Also, some of you know he in prison for ordering the hit on Baskins and some other crimes like killing Tigers. He's currently serving 22 years in prison though I think he'll probably get out sooner. He's asking Trump for a pardon, probably not going to happen. Again Joe Exotic ran against Trump in the 2016 election. I would be highly surprised if Trump does Pardon Joe Exotic. The most interesting story in the series isn't Joe but Carole Baskin and her missing husband. In the third episode, they cover Carole Baskin and her second husband Don Lewis whose been missing since 1997. Let's just said it applied that Carole killed Don and fed him to the Tigers which they owned. Joe Exotic applied that as well. Heck, he had a music video (he claims to be a country singer but some people doubt he sings) called "Here Kitty Kitty" where he had an actress as Carole (and the scary part, that actress could be a dead ringer for Carole) feed meat to the Tigers with a mannequin head and hands. After watching that episode I do think she did have Don Lewis killed (as do most people including and I kid you not OJ Simpson) and also I wonder if anyone is going to break in Big Cat Rescue to try to find Don Lewis' body. Keep in mind, there are Tigers there, enter in your own risk. Also, many people doubt her story about taking a walk on Nebraska Ave at night where she met Don Lewis especially those who live in Tampa. It's an area popular with prostitutes and a place where serial killer Bobby Joe Long picked up most of his victims. Another who done it was who set the Joe Exotic's Studio and Alligator Pit on fire, killing 7 Alligators. Joe Exotic accused Carole (of course)/Animal Rights People, and then his producer Rick Kirkman. Kirkham was an interesting story as well he was a reporter for Inside Edition before being fired for drug abuse and had his own Documentary called TV Junkie about him being addicted to crack cocaine. He ended up at Joe Exotic's zoo to film a Reality TV show about Joe and Joe got him to produce his Online TV Show on Youtube/website. Kirkman denies being the arsonist because that Reality Show was his retirement (his words). Plus he did all that work without backing up any of it especially when he was in talks with a TV network. I would question why Kirkman didn't back his stuff but it might have been a mixed blessing (which I'll get to later). He pointed to Joe Exotic who more than likely had a reason (or several) to do it. Kirkman filmed nearly everything and more than likely had footage that could have put Joe Exotic in trouble with the law. Plus Joe was away in another state for a funeral so maybe that was his cover story or he had someone else set the place on fire. After he left Joe's Zoo, Kirkman left and moved to Texas where a few months after his place caught on fire and killed his dog. Now, Kirkman lives in Norway. Also, I question why Jeff Lowe and Allen Glover aren't in prison, weren't they involved with the plot to kill Baskin? I have a feeling that this story isn't over.
