Where should Tom Brady play in 2020?
It's been one of the biggest stories in the NFL on where Tom Brady should play. I know I don't want him to play with the Bucs. Honestly, if they are going to move on from Jaimes then maybe get a guy in his mid-30s in Andy Dalton or 20s like Teddy Bridgewater, not a guy who may or may not have a year or two in the tank like Brady or Phillip Rivers. Heck, I would prefer Jaimes over those two old guys. OK maybe not at least Brady doesn't turn over the ball nearly as much as Jaimes. I know Brady still had a good season but how long it that last? Plus, would Brady be patient with the Bucs? Offensive, he will have good receivers with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin (maybe Breshad Perriman but he's also a free agent and more than likely will want to be a first or second receiver, not the third option) and good tight ends with OJ Howard and Cameron Brate. Unsure about the Offensive Line but if the Bucs go get Brady, an Upgraded O-Line would be a good idea. Also, a running back and upgraded defense would help. I think the Bucs could go to the Playoffs with Brady or at least a good QB that would turn over the ball as often. The Bucs did go 7-9 and if they had breaks go their way and if Jaimes didn't throw 30 interceptions (maybe if he only threw for 20 interceptions), would have been a playoff team. I think Tampa has a better chance than Miami all though Brian Flores was a Defensive Coordinator for the Patriots for a few seasons. The Dolphins are more of a mess than the Bucs plus they might want to draft a quarterback of the future and not go with a fossil (OK I'm guessing). Brady might be a better option than Tua (OK I'm guessing again). The Dolphins do still have Ryan Fitzpatrick so I doubt they would get Brady. Who would be the other teams interested? The Raiders came out recently offering him a Two Year Offer and plus they need to fill seats for their first season in Las Vegas (yes it's official the Raiders are now the Las Vegas Raiders, Did anyone see that coming five years ago?). However, the last time they got a big-name player, it didn't work for them. Heck, it exploded on them. Yes I'm talking about Antonio Brown who I hope is getting help and yes getting mental help is one of his conditions after striking a plea deal after he got arrested for attacking a mover who demanded payment of Four Thousand Dollars. AB brags about making a "Whole Lotta Money" which is the title of his rap single (sadly I'm not kidding). Yet he stiffs payment on people like the mover, his ex-lawyer, his ex-doctor, among others. I heard a rumor that Brady wants to sign with a team and bring in AB, WHY? Have you heard the AB stories in the past year or so? Other teams interested are the Chargers who I think have more talent than the Raiders and they're in LA (yes I know, still weird) but does he really want to end his career in a soccer stadium (where the Chargers play)? There's the Cowboys because Jerry Boy would sign him in a second especially for the publicity which Jerry Boy loves but would the Cowboys really sign Brady over Dak Prescott, whose younger. I think Tom Brady's best option is returning to the Patriots. I don't know how bad that relationship is so I would give it a 50-50 chance of happening. Plus, like it or not the Patriots are the best team of the other options I listed unless the 49ers want to make a play for Brady. However, I did say in an earlier post that it would be the best option for the Patriots to move on from Tom Brady and get a younger guy. I still believe that especially if Belichick wants to win another Super Bowl or two. I don't like the Patriots (the Astros of the NFL) but I will get them this, they have been a contending team for nearly 20 years now because they have found players to put in especially to replace those who left especially during the era of the Free Agency. Not easy especially since no other team has done it successfully. If they can do it with the other positions, they can do it at the quarterback position. I'm sure they convince any quarterback to join them. Plenty of chose from.
