Sell the Team Dolan
I'm admit I don't follow the NBA as much as said the NFL, MLB, or even the NHL (mostly because of the Lightning). Honestly I do wish we had a team here in Tampa. I know yes, the Magic are in Orlando but that's a hour away. Maybe one of these days I will see the Magic play but probably next season the earliest. However, I am making plans to fly to Phoenix to see the Suns play the New Orleans Pelicans on April 5th. I know, I'm traveling cross-country to see a NBA game (and see family) plus I have seen D-Backs games there. Maybe I'll see Charles Barkley there (probably not because he's doing the TNT pregame show in Atlanta) I go to Arizona at least once a year to visit my dad and stepmom. Speaking of my dad, he was born and raised in New York and was a Knicks fan (unsure if he is now). That team is owned by James Dolan whose probably the worst owner in professional sports currently at least in the NBA I'm sure you can make the case for Jimmy Haslam with the Browns, Mark Davis with the Raiders (where are they playing in 2019? I'm hoping it's in San Diego just for comedic purposes) among others. Granted, he also the chairman of the New York Rangers who were prior to this season one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference though this season they will more than likely miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2009-2010 season and it was the only season they missed after the lockout took away the 2004-05 season. For Comparison, since the 2004-05 season the Knicks only made the playoffs three times and that was throught the 2010-13 where they made to the playoffs three straight years and yet didn't make it past the second round. So how are the Rangers being run much better than the Knicks despite being owned by the same guy? Honestly I don't know, if I had the answer for that, I would probably being working for their Front Office instead the two jobs I have. I think the best answer I can think of is the people he has brought in and they failed miserably. The most infamous of them are Isiah Thomas and Phil Jackson. Just because one was a great player and good coach (with the Indiana Pacers) and the other one was a OK player (who won titles with the Knicks as a player) and a great coach doesn't mean they would be great front office people which they weren't. OK Isiah did have front office experience the Toronto Raptors which was mixed at best though he did add pieces to the Raptors for would build the team for the future with Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter. Also, prior to joining the Knicks Isiah killed the CBA like what a certain Real Estate mogul did with the USFL (I forgot the mogul's name) but for some reason Dolan picked Isiah to run the francise. Well that didn't work out for a number of reasons like overpaying players who didn't give the Knicks much if anything, creating problems with the salary cap and going 56-108 in his two seasons when he added being a head coach to his duties. Also, there's the Sexual Harassment lawsuit where Dolan and the Madison Square Garden Company had to pay 11.5 million dollars to a woman who was being Sexually Harassed by Thomas and was fired for reporting it. Dolan later fired Thomas and hired Donnie Walsh in the front office to take over which he ended up improving the Knicks (again 2010-13). Sadly, Dolan rehired Thomas to run the New York Liberty, a WNBA team. That's right Dolan hired a guy who was busted for Sexual Harassment (By the way Dolan had to 3 million of that money) to run to female team. Seriously you can't make this stuff up. Good News, Dolan is no longer in control of the Liberty but Bad News is Isiah is still there. I thought about talking about Phil Jackson's front office tenure with the Knicks, I'll summarize here. In three years there, it didn't work out. Steve Kerr decide to reject the Knicks offer (I wonder how that worked out for Steve Kerr?) and also Jackson had problems with Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Prozingis. It seems that Dolan cares more about his music than the Knicks. He's the lead singer and guitar for his band JD and the Straight Shot who only sold just over 100 albums and he has to paid off people to open for Bands like the Eagles, ZZ Top, among others. How much does that cost? I'm asking for a friend. Also his band was feautred on soundtracks mostly because his buddy was/is Harvey Weinstein. Yes that Harvey Weinstein probably not a surprise because Dolan is a dirtbag himself and there's crapping on Knicks fans. A fan wrote a letter saying he should sell the team Dolan responsed by calling him an alcoholic (Dolan has a history of substance abuse alcohol) and that he should cheer for the Brooklyn Nets. Threathening to ban people just for saying "Sell the Team" in person including recently. The NBA should step in on this. Like or not Dolan, it is freedom of speech (First Amendent BITCH). Is the NBA going to wait until Dolan says some racist shit like what Donald Sterling did? If I was that fan, I would sue Dolan for millions upon millions of dollars. Some Knicks fans responsed by making St. Patty bans Dolan T-Shirts and giving them away in the game against the Lakers. Some of those T-Shirts were grabbed by security. Dolan is a snowflake. Then there's the Charles Oakley where Security for some reason requested that Oakley leave (maybe being too closer to Dolan and critizing Dolan a number of times). It ended up with Oakley being charged, being ban from MSG (later lifted), and head of security was later fired because of this incident. The Knicks have the worst record in the NBA and have a good chance of landing the number one overall pick and have enough cap space to land two big free agents. More than likely the NBA will get the Knicks the 1st pick like the did in 1985 (google 1985 NBA Draft), landing free agents not so much especially with James Dolan. I'm with the Knicks fans with this, SELL THE TEAM DOLAN and guess what I DON'T LIVE IN NEW YORK. I live a thousand miles away so go ahead ban from MSG. I dare you. You snowflake ASSHOLE. You're Welcome Knicks Fans.
