Greedy people and the Next Challenge

As some of you know I'm a big fan of MTV's Challenge I did a few posts about the Challenge/Reality Shows and still hate what that bitch Johnny Bananas and Ashley M did in ripping off their partners (granted the producers should get blamed as well). Also, I did an event where I got to meet some of my favorites cast members of the shows. Sadly I learned the event I went the Challenge Throwdown in Orlando was based on fraud. Supposedly those events were supposed to raise money for a charity in honor of a popular cast member of the challenges and I heard the first two events did raise money for the charity but I heard things went south in the New York event and after that. I heard Orlando nearly didn't happen but it ended happening otherwise I would have stayed home instead of driving on I-4 in heavy rain. For those who don't live in Florida and maybe some people outside of Florida might, I-4 is considered to be one of the most dangerous highways in the country if not the most dangerous highway and that's on a good day, I did in the rain. Lucky I had my Tom Petty CD with me and I avoided getting in a crash. Had fun in the event, took pictures with some of my favorites including one with two of my challenge crushes (Hi Ladies), and went back home. I heard they had one more event near Chicago and canceled events in Austin and Los Angeles and those people are still waiting for their refunds. I talk about this because of the dueling documentaries on Netflix and Hulu (I haven't yet but I've seen youtube videos about the failed music festival) about the disaster known as the Fyre Festival which was supposed to be a luxury music festival with Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule leading the way but well if you have seen either one of the documentaries or both or heard about it on the news a couple years ago or recently or whatever you know that festival turned into a shitshow which was canceled before it started. It turned into the Hunger Games granted no one died but people were screwed out of their money. Highlighted by cheese sandwiches and FEMA tents. Mcfarland is serving six years for this and facing civil suits along with Ja Rule whose not facing criminal charges. The red flag should have been Ja Rule not being one of the performing acts AT HIS OWN MUSIC FESTIVAL. Seriously? Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction created Lollapalooza and doesn't he perform there? Plus he could have some of his buddies join in as well. Ja Rule wasn't even there, he was in a concert in Chicago when the shitshow in the Bahamas happened. Don't know whose his reputation is damaged the most; Ja Rule or Kayne West? Also the past two weeks on 20/20 they covered the Bakker's and Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos their rise and downfalls. Sounds like future episodes of American Greed which I'll probably see because I like that show. I don't know why exactly but I do maybe watch Greedy people get theirs or just like watching stories of Greed like the 30 for 30 about the SMU football team in the 1980s that ended up getting the "Death Penalty" for paying players. I did watch the Bakkers 20/20 and learn and a few things. 1. Kevin Spacey played Jim Bakker in a 1990 TV Movie called "Fall from Grace" oh the irony. 2. Turns out Jim Bakker raped Jessica Hahn. Before that, I thought that was consensual which still not right because he was still married to Tammy Faye. Knowing that I wish he was convicted of rape along with crimes he was convicted of involved his PTL empire. That encounter happened in a hotel in Clearwater Beach Florida. Also, after Tammy Faye divorce Jim, she married Roe Messner who worked on Heritage USA and also served time himself for bankruptcy fraud. I don't know if Joshua Hall aka Grunt Guy aka the guy behind the Challenge Throwdown events is on the level as Billy Mcfarland, Jim Bakker, and Elizabeth Holmes but I think he should have investigated by the FBI if he hasn't yet because the people who bought tickets to the Austin and Los Angeles events that were canceled at least to my knowledge haven't got their money back. Also, apparently he left one of the cast members stranded in the airport after the last event. Unsure if I should talk about probably for a few reasons like the future of the show however I remember seeing another 30 for 30 documentary "Broke" where they talk about why a number of professional athletes go broke/bankrupt shortly after their playing careers end. In one of the stories talked about on the documentary about when the players got rip off, they just don't talk about it not even warning their teammates, fellow players who might do business with the same person/people that ripped off them off. I think not warning people about greedy people can be dangerous as well. I think I should warn people if he tries this again. Granted I don't know if the Grunt Guy will pull what Mcfarland and what a few people that were featured on American Greed did and pull another scam (one of them did it while IN PRISON).  I'm sure I'll find out because I did buy a ticket and he has my contact info. Mcfarland's scam after being bailed out was promising low tickets to the Masters, Burning Man, among other events and he emailed the same people he victimized with his Fyre Festival. Yes, I know the Grunt Guy isn't behind bars yet heck I don't know if he's even investigated by the Feds and it will be the Feds. Honestly, when it comes to the Challenge Throwdown I don't believe I was rip off. I believe I got my money's worth granted I can only speak for myself though I wish some of what I pay did go to the charity though I do feel bad for one castmember I begged to come to the Orlando event (if you do go to JCTampa on Instagram (me) she's one of the castmates I took pictures with. I know she did another event or two but I still feel bad. Also, I hope the people who bought to the canceled events do get their money back. At least they didn't get stranded on an island like those who attended Fyre Festival yes I went there. I'm happy to report that Derrick from Road Rules and his podcast partner are doing legitimate events now (please come to Tampa). Also listen to their Challenge Mania podcast. I should point out that in the Hulu documentary that they paid that dirtbag Billy Mcfarland to appear on the doc. Honestly, what should not have happened, I know they wanted to get the focal point of the story but the money should have got to the victims waiting for them money, not Mcfarland. I believe if a studio, TV channel, Subscription service like Netflix does a movie about these rip off artists then some of the proceeds should be given to the victims. As for the next challenge, I hate to say it but probably one of the few seasons I not looking forward to though I still probably watch. I miss the good old days when it was just Real World and Road Rules alum. Heck, I'm starting to miss the days when they just added the Are You the One cast? So many new people though I would like to see the USA vs World format have teams for the first teams since Battle of the Seasons 2012. Also I like to see a Old School vs New School format especially since a number of veterans want to come back. Make it happen MTV.
