And they called Snowflakes on the left: The Trump vs SNL edition
Saturday Night Live started in 1975 and since parodied presidents since Gerald Ford (played by Chevy Chase) and presidents past like Richard Nixon. However, our current president was taken an expectation of being made fun of. Unsure what the other president's reactions were to SNL comedians making fun of them. Well the late George HW Bush was friends with Dana Carvey who lampooned him during Carvey's SNL days (also little-known fact Carvey also impersonated his son W in his Master of Deguise movie) and Obama had Keegan Michael-Key to reprise his Obama's anger translator role from Key and Peele during one of the White House Correspondents Dinner. However, I don't think they wear nearly as butthurt the butthurt in chief is especially since Trump tweeted he might take action against Saturday Night Live. Are you serious? Is he pissed that Alec Baldwin is portraying him? Probably one of the few times a non-SNL performer has a recurring role as anyone really much less the president. Even Baldwin read a mean tweet from the president himself during the Jimmy Kimmel show skit of mean tweets. Also, the conservatives attack liberals for one of many things remove the first amendment if Democrats won elections but suing comedy shows is OK? I don't think even George W Bush was that pissed at Stephen Colbert in the 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner and later on, W's brother Jeb was Colbert's second ever guest on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert the first show in for David Letterman. It would not surprise me Colbert is invited to Bush Gatherings instead of Trump. Speaking of White House Correspondents Dinner, the keynote speaker will be Ron Chernow. If you're wondering he's a historian and not a comedian or an entertainer because thanks to Trump being a snowflake to the jokes of Michelle Wolff. I wonder what are the chances of Trump actually showing at this event with there being no comedian to make fun of him? Probably still not that great. In fairness, I don't think it was right of Ms. Wolff attacking people who invited to speak but in the same token, I don't think it was for the White House Correspondents' Association to punish all comedians for the actions of one. Wasn't there a comedian whose cleaner they could invite? Seriously? How about Neal Brennan since he said that on the Daily Show that Trump won't be impeached and believed that Trump would be reelected. Then again, he did say that Republicans need Jesus and criticized evangelicals of support bad behavior from fellow Republicans after they supported Trump and his baggage I just said or his sins if you will including supporting dirtbag Brent Kavanaugh for the supreme court. It's no secret that comedians, late-night talk shows, and even shows have taken shots at the Trump. Outside of the media and Democrats and probably a number of others, Trump's biggest enemy are comedians. Heck, one of the reasons why Trump ran (or at least why we think he ran) was when Trump attended the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner back when Trump was a just a public figure (remember those days) and thought of running but still unsure and Obama and Seth Meyers told their Trump jokes. Sadly, we all know who the last laugh. Yet Trump didn't mind it when Comedy Central roasted him in 2010 which is probably the last time he had a sense of humor though he did come on comedy shows in 2016 including SNL where he was in the Drake music video parody skit when he was running for president. Now, he accuses them of being one-sided. In a response, Jimmy Kimmel tweeted back "you're right, why don't you quit your boring job and you can take over my show," So far, Trump hasn't answered back. If Trump does say yes, will Matt Damon be a guest on Trump show? Besides Baldwin, Comedy Central had the President show where comedian Anthony Atamanuik played Trump and the guy you know from the Sonic Drive-Thru ads played Pence. After a season, guessing Atamanuik got tired of playing Trump and has only done specials after last year. Unsure if Baldwin is considering stop playing Trump though unsure if I can blame him. Is there a person on the current cast of SNL that can be Trump if Baldwin decides to stop? I know Darrell Hammond who was a longtime cast who did play Trump a number of times including where Trump hosted. Unsure if Trump will follow through on his lawsuit against SNL but he should know that it didn't work out coal miner executive and one of his top supporters Bob Murray who sued John Oliver making fun of him (Murray) but the case was tossed. I'm guessing we will have to stay tuned to find out.
