Stand your Ground Law

I'm admit Criminal Justice system is one of the topic I least like talking about. If I'm pro reform, I'm anti-cop, anti-law but if against reforms I'm racist. However, that being said I AM FOR NOT ONLY FOR POLICE REFORMS BUT REFORMS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN GENERAL. It seems like we hold people in retail stores with more accountable than Police Officers. I am not anti-Police or anti-Law, I'm pro do your job correctly. Also if we're going to have the death penalty, prosecutors should make damn sure they got the right person not prosecute someone then sometime they find out they executed the wrong person. One of the laws that we need changing is Stand Your Ground Law. Honestly I don't hate the law but I don't like it either. I saw the video of Michael Drejka killing Markeis McGlockton (well up until Drejka pulling the trigger). I'm sorry, OK not really but Drejka killed him and honestly Drejka wasn't standing his ground in my opinion. McGlockton was actually backing away from him but Drejka pulled the trigger anyway. It started when McGlockton girlfriend parked in a handicap spot in a convenience store and Drejka confronted her and McGlockton pushed Drejka then Drejka grabbed his gun and shot and killed McGlockton. I believe Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri was wrong and should have put the cuffs on Drejka, fingerprinted him, mug shot, and locked him up for a bit on day damn one. Honestly I would at least put a person using the Stand your Ground law on an ankle bracelet or whatever they use on people on probation. You can make the case for keeping the person locked up. Also Gualtieri was wrong of telling Rev. Al Sharpton who came to Clearwater to protest for the McGlockton family and to protest the Stand your Ground law to "GO back to New York,". Sharpton like him or not has a right to go and protest wherever he wants without some asshole with a badge and a gun telling him to "go back to New York" even if he's the top cop of the county. Not a surprised that Gualtieri gave an asshole response to Sharpton since Gualtieri endorse fellow Asshole Rick Scott for senate. If you're going to that asshole Scott, I wouldn't be voting for you like Chad Chronister whose the Hillsborough County Sheriff. By the way, Chronister's son tried the Stand your Ground defense as well (didn't work out for the son). Yes, Drejka was finally arrested this week on manslaughter but again he should have been arrest day damn one. Pretty sure that most of us first hear of Stand your Ground when George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin in 2012. The 911 operator actually told Zimmerman not to do anything but he did anyway, killed Martin, and got away with it. Also Zimmerman was shot by a man who also claimed Stand Your Ground (again didn't work out for the guy who shot Zimmerman as he was convicted). Bill Nelson wrote a letter to his former fellow Senate member and current asshole I mean Attorney General (and Trump punching bag) Jeff Sessions. Honestly Nelson shouldn't have wasted the paper and ink because let's face it Sessions won't do shit like Pam Bondi won't do shit about this. Sessions only cares about discrimination if Christians were discriminate against. Also I'm guessing he's not going to do anything if that Christian is black, Hispanic, and/or basically not white (you know it's true). I think Stand your Ground should be fixed if not removed. Also the shooter should be arrest immediately and at least monitored if not locked up. I'm for people shooting in self-defense but Florida will need a new law or revise Stand Your Ground. Things need to change. Just hope I'm able to go to a Rays game after this post.
