Religion and Archdiocese of Miami terrible decision
Believe or not, there are Christians who aren't Republicans. I'm a Catholic and Democrat. How many of you thought Christians are mostly Republicans? Anyway, I know this is in Miami but I wanted to talk about this (actually I wanted to talk about this before the Douglas High School shooting happened). Teacher Jocelyn Morffi lost her job at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School after his got married to her partner. Personally if I had a kid and she was my kid's teacher, I wouldn't care if she was gay or not I would care if she was a good teacher which sounded like she was and still would be if either she was rehired or go on to another school. Also based on the article most parents were pissed of the school's/Archdiocese of Miami decision to fire her. Religion or not, it's not right fire someone based on Sexual Orientation among other things. Sadly Florida doesn't offer gay rights protection and though Miami-Dade county does have Gay Rights protection religious institutions are exempt. Sad that church leaders still think in their old school ways (not all of them, I had a priest give a homily that on he does the Spanish speaking mass and about how talks to them about how they fear about being deported). Some Religious people are out there like evangelicals and it seems that religion gives them a right to hate people who are different than them. I know I know, I shouldn't attack evangelicals because I would not like to be told how to worship so pretty sure they wouldn't like for me to tell them how they should. However I will questioned some of their decisions like picking Trump in the primary when they had plenty of Republicans who were more similar to them than Trump. Also they attacked Hillary for the sins of Bill but when Trump actually commits adultery they get a mulligan (I'm sure they've given him more then one let's be honest). Is Trump Religions? Honestly I don't know (I don't think he is but can't really said he's not). I know people hate Religion for their followers hating them but don't blame the religion blame some of the people. Also not all Christians are hateful people, don't blame all Christians for the actions of a selected few just like don't blame Muslins for the actions of a selected few.
